New Pelican Encourages Readers to Utilize KnowWake During Manatee Season

New Pelican, a popular news outlet serving Florida’s Northeast Broward communities of Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach, Lighthouse Point, Oakland Park, Pompano Beach, Wilton Manors, and Fort Lauderdale, recently educated its readers that the KnowWake boating app is a fantastic tool to utilize during Florida’s manatee season (Nov. 15 to March 31).

The story focused heavily on navigating wake zones throughout the Intracoastal Waterway towards Deerfield Island Park, calling out areas where idle speed is required and then increase to 25 MPH.

Calling out KnowWake’s ability to show boaters wake zone information in real time, the article went on to report:

“The app includes community live reporting ‘where users share live updates such as marine life, hazards, patrols and even where the parties are – creating a sense of community.’…

…Along with the coverage of waterways, the list is almost endless for destinations that include waterfront dining, marinas and fuel docks. Think of it as Google Maps, but with everything you need as a ‘recreational boater and a platform meant for any vessel on the waterway.’

The app will even give you updated prices at fuel docks.

The feature, written by New Pelican’s Jim “Chiefy” Mathie, is the latest in a list of many write-ups to highlight KnowWake’s useful features like wake zones, a marine weather forecast suite, and so much more. Other notable publications include BoatU.S. MagazineSouthern BoatingDiscover Boating, US Insider, Market DailyBoating Industry, Florida Ski Riders, and Miami Wire.
